Open HOURS
We are open to the public 10am-2pm Saturday & Sunday during the school year! ​ Bring the whole family out to explore our zoo, meet amazing animals from around the world, and even take your picture with a python or pony! ​ Move at your on pace as you feed tortoises, play with our friendly petting zoo pals, and check out the inhabitants of our Reptile House! ​ Reptile Shows will be happening throughout the day, as well as other special encounters! ​ Tickets must be purchased for all guests over the age of 12 months. Tickets are $8 per person when purchased online, and $10 at the door. ​ Feed cups can be purchased in the gift shop if you wish to feed our hungry tortoise herd, petting zoo pals, and aviary friends!
Toddler Time
Toddler Time is designed for children ages 5 and under to explore the zoo at their own pace! Bring your little ones to feed a tortoise, touch a snake, and play with our petting zoo pals! Dec. 6th Dec. 20th
On the 2nd Friday of each month during the school year, homeschoolers from all over the Houston area come to The Learning Zoo to bond over their shared excitement for nature and science! Each of our Homeschool Days has a theme and special activities geared towards ages 6-12. PLEASE NOTE: As of October, there will be a set number of tickets available for each event, and when they are gone, they are gone. WE STRONGLY ADVISE PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE. Walk-ins will not be able to purchase tickets if the stock has sold out. Join us for a special morning at The Learning Zoo. 2 beautiful mermaids will flop onshore the zoo from 11-1 to excavate for lost treasure with your little one! 10am-Noon Group will enjoy time with mermaids from 11am-Noon. Noon-2pm Group will enjoy time with mermaids from Noon-1pm. $15/guest will include admission, (1) family feed pack, and the associated activity for the day for each child. Each attending guest over the age of 1 will need a ticket. Petting Zoo, Aviary, Tortoise Gardens, and Reptile House will be open during normal zoo hours, 10am-2pm.
